Dystonia

What is Dystonia?

Dystonia is a movement disorder in which your muscles contract involuntarily, causing repetitive or twisting movements.

The condition can affect one or more parts of your body and the spasms may be mild in nature to severe. They may be painful and could possibly interfere with activities of daily living.

There is no cure for dystonia, but treatment may help lessen symptoms. Medication can be helpful. Injections may also help reduce the severity of the spasm.
